Question
I have spondyloarthritis and need the latest treatment recommendtions. At the present time, the pain is in the left neck and 24 hour headaches.
Answer
Unfortunately, our section on spondyloarthropathies is still under construction. Briefly, NSAIDs remain the first line of therapy. Sulfasalazine is often the next drug tried. Enbrel, one of the TNF inhibitors has recently been approved for ankylosing spondylitis and has been a remarkable new treatment. Unfortunately no drug has been shown to change the course of the disease (disease modifying) although studies with Enbrel are under way.
