Results from TEMPO (Trial of Etanercept and Methotrexate with Radiographic Patient Outcomes) have been published. Reported by Klareskog et al (Lancet 363: 675, 2004), this multicenter double-blind trial comparing the combination of methotrexate + etanercept to either methotrexate or etanercept alone involved 682 patients with established RA at 92 centers in Europe and Australia. The results were previously reported at the 2003 Annual European Congress of Rheumatology.
