How can it be determined that a pain in the foot is considered gout or arthritis? adding: that there could or could not be any inflammation. By knowing this how can it or any be prevented? 1.)For Gout, I know when I have pizza this gives a reaction. What’s your comments? Currently I am taking colchicine.

It is caused by uric acid crystals that deposit in the joint resulting in a great deal of pain and inflammation (redness, warmth and swelling). Often referred to as the “gouch”. The best way to diagnose gout is to remove fluid from the joint and look for uric acid crystals under the microscope.
