Question
I am 26 yrs old. I began taking 6 tablets of Metho and 50mg of Enbrel per wk since Jan. But around June to Aug I was getting my period every 2 to 2 1/2 wks, then I was switched to Humira and Metho. During this time I am still taking a shot per wk and my period stopped. I am now a month late, should I be worrying? My regular dr says, it’s normal for a women to be late when her meds are being switched. But I have not read anywhere about this problem. Should I be concerned?
Answer
Irregular menses is not a common side effect of the drugs but can occur when the body is under stress, such a very active rheumatoid arthritis. If you do not have a period, you need to see your gynecologist. And of course, a pregnancy test is an obvious recommendation, if applicable.
