I have rheuatoid arthritis and my mohter has it as well. I have an identical twin sister. There is some good and bad medical things that can happen with twins. The problem that we might have is does my twin sister ok and only feels my pain which has happened to us before? With me and my mother having RA what is the chances of my twin sister getting it?

In families like yours, where multiple family members are affected by a disease, it seems obvious that there is a genetic
connection. But no single gene has yet been identified to determine if a person is at high risk for developing RA. In some situations, there is a family history of RA, while in other families there is only one individual who has RA.
