Question
For the last four years I’ve been getting fevers almost ever month of 102.7 to 105.3. The only thing my doctor ever tells me is it is a kidney infection. But sometime’s I will get a rash on my face but it will come and go. I’ve been tested for everything except lupus. Is there a special test they do for lupus? What do they need to look for?
Answer
The ANA test is often done, as virtually all lupus patients have a positive test. If negative, lupus is generally ruled out. The best test is a visit to a rheumatologist.
