Is it ok to take Prednisone for a few days during a flare and just stop taking it. But I developed high blood pressure from the Prednisone. Will taking it for a short time raise my blood pressure?

Obviously you need to discuss this with your doctor. In general, short courses of prednisone are safe and effective to treat RA flares, but the goal of therapy is to keep those flares to a minimum. Patients may also flare again when the prednisone is stopped. High blood pressure and diabetes will worsen temporarily while you are on prednisone. In these cases, although prednisone might still be used, it should be used as little as possible.
