Question
I was on Methotrexate for over 6 months wihout much relief and asked for differant drugs. I had to have a ct scan and pulmonary nodules were found in the left lung. My Dr. wanted to wait 3 months and repeat the scan when nodules were found in the right lung as well. Now she wants to wait and maybe have me go to a infection control Dr. I also developed some bleeding from my kidneys. I stopped taking the methotrexate and after 2 weeks the bleeding stopped. Is it possible that the pulmonary nodules will disapper?
Answer
Rheumatoid nodules can ocur more frequently with methotrexate and these nodules can be in the lung. However, you still need a careful evaluation (usually by a lung doctor) to make sure the nodules are not due to infection or cancer which generally is not related to methotrexate.
