Question
I have just injection in my right knee,[steroid] my doctor said it can last two or twelve months,is this right ,and will it come back worse than before.
Answer
It is difficult to predict how long a steroid injection into the knee for osteoarthritis will last. Some patients get only a few days of relief, others can last months. In general, knees that are swollen or have recently flared tend to get better responses to steroid injection. It should not make the joint worse.
