Question
I have had proximal row carpectomy done 6/03 and have had a lot of trouble with continued pain. My Surgeon suggested and I agreed to have Synvisc injections in my right wrist. My question is, do you have any information on success/failure with this procedure for the wrist, and is severe pain associated with these injections normal for 2-3 days post injection?
Answer
I am not aware of any published information on Synvisc in the wrist. You might ask your surgeon. I have never injected Synvisc into the wrist so I can’t comment on whether the pain after the injection is common. Synvisc in the knee is well tolerated, generally without much pain after the injection.
